Testing Times

I recently got thinking about how funny trials riders are and how the sport takes over your life in a pretty abnormal way, starting when you're a kid. After you've been riding for a year or two everything is rosy - you have learnt enough to put up good arguments on forums, you're cocky enough to believe you're always right, and you're confident enough to tackle serious stuff on your bike.
Then, just as you have it all sussed, the ugly enemies of trials grad your attention - yes, you've guessed it: girls and cars. Normal people would give in and forget about bikes but not true trials riders.It's a fact that the real test of trials riders is not how high they can sidehop or what they can jump off, it's keeping on riding when girls and cars are vying for your interest.
I've been through this difficult time - many girls find it very hard to understand your love of trials bikes ( how could they ). Equally, your hot hatch sits on your drive begging for you to take it seriously, and put it to good use round a supermarket car park. I remember my mates being unable to understand why my first car had dents all over it and I didn't care. I can forgive them though - it's hard for the uninitiated to see how a Daihatsu Charade can become a challenging travelling trials section.
You can look at this dilemma of peer pressure in the following way: you either ride bikes over cars or ride girls in them! I, however, prefer to see the situation like this: you ride bikes because you love them, cars get you to riding spots where you meet great people and on those long journeys a pretty girl sitting beside you can help the time to pass much faster.
